While reading to Xave today, I thought it would be really cool to make videos to him, from me, while I we are away on vacation.

Continual Snow

So, it feels like snow is never going to cease dropping on our heads. I suppose to look at it positively, it will only make going to Hawaii easier? Xave was supposed to go to the doctor today, but we had to reschedule for next week - we do know he weighs about 17lbs, thanks to our WiiFit+!

Oh, right, the Wii...

The Husband and I bought a Wii 'bout a week ago - a combination birthday present for him, and Valentine's day gift for us. On Sunday, miraculously we found a WiiFit (the last one!). So lately, we've been switching back between playing virtual bowling and yoga-ing to tone up. Yesterday was the first day I really worked out on it, and I will admit, I am a little sore...I'm sure after today's workout, it'll be even worse tomorrow.

Now, back to Xave's doctor's appointment - I'm disappointed in more ways than one that snow has impeded our going. You see, Xave's doctor (who was-and I suppose still is-my family's physician growing up) is in my hometown. Lately, I've been seeing my parents and grandmother more frequently because of them wanting to see the baby, and going in for doctor's appointments, plus just trying to make sure he doesn't get upset when he stays with them. But now it's been quite some time since I've even gotten to see my parents or my grandmother, and I am missing them more than ever.

The thaw will come - is what I keep telling myself.

Xavier: The Ladies Man

First...

Happy Birthday Husband!

Now, as is commonplace now, I neglected to post something that I promised myself I would.

My son, not even six months old, is a ladies man.

A few weeks ago, The Husband and I went to dinner downtown and had Xave in tow. We had gotten through the majority of the meal, and were getting ready to have our after dinner coffee, when an undergraduate couple on a date came in and were seated behind us.

Xave, in his insatiable curiosity, turned to watch the new arrivals...only to lock himself into a stare at the guy. He stared...and stared...and stared. I could tell it was making him feel uncomfortable, and The Husband and I sort of laughed about it to ourselves (it wasn't helping the poor guy that his girlfriend/date kept pointing and waving at Xave, mentioning how cute he was).

The Husband then decided to hold Xavier in his lap, but even this did not deter his hard gaze. I looked at the girl and said "I'm sorry, it seems he's trying to intimidate your boyfriend to steal you away!" to which she replied, "Oh, he can have me without any trouble!"

Poor guy - you could really tell he felt awkward and uncomfortable (because really, when you're on a date, the last thing you probably want to think of is the prospect of children!).

The Husband and I got a good laugh out of it though.
